“Fundamentals: What is coding?” is a course designed for elementary school teachers of all technical levels who are curious about bringing the world of coding to their classrooms but are unsure of what coding involves. It’s for teachers who want to challenge their pedagogy and expand their teacher toolkit.
No prior coding knowledge is required – just a passion for inspiring young minds!
What do we hope to achieve?
This course is at a fundamentals level. This means we aren’t making an end product. There is no game or animation to pass on to your students. Instead, this course is designed to expand your understanding of coding. It’s more knowledge based than it is hands on – and while we will give you ideas on how you can transfer core concepts into relevant lessons, it isn’t the main focus of this course. Our aim is take take the complex and key knowledge of what coding is, and present it in a way that is easy to understand and pass on to your students.
