Description

This course is the first in our ‘How to Teach: Digital Technologies’ series.

It’s designed to introduce teachers to the core fundamentals of what digital technologies is, and what it might look like in the classroom. This course is designed as a professional development course, and so while we do discuss ideas on how to implement digital technologies into your teaching, that is not our primary focus. We want to build your knowledge as a teacher. Our aim is to look at what Digital Technologies is and how it develops over the course of 6 years.

Maybe you’ve been looking into introducing coding, but you’re unsure what the learning objectives would be. Or you’re not sure if you should be teaching your children something first before throwing them on Scratch? Or maybe that’s where you are as a teacher, setting your class up on code.org or Scratch and now you’re wondering what’s next.

Or maybe you have asked the exact same question we asked ourselves, “How do I teach digital technologies?”

Well this course is for you. It’s designed to kick start your journey into Digital Technologies, and is the foundation of all our future courses. We want to impart as much knowledge as we can, so take notes, come back as many times as needed, and watch your confidence grow as you become more assured in what you are teaching and why you are teaching it.
