About This Course

This course is the reason why we created Launchpad. Simple as that. We want more teachers to be as passionate about implementing the Digital Curriculum as we are, and so to do that we have created this course: The New Zealand Digital Curriculum Unpacked for Primary Teachers

It’s designed to introduce you to the core fundamentals of what the digital curriculum is, and what it might look like in the classroom. This course is designed as professional development for teachers, and so while we do discuss specific ideas on how to implement the digital curriculum into your teaching program, that is not our primary focus. We want to build your knowledge as a teacher. Our aim is to look at what the Digital Curriculum is, how it fits into the NZ Curriculum, what the key understandings are, and how it develops over the course of 6 years – from New Entrant to Year 6.

Maybe you’ve been looking at introducing coding, but you’re unsure what the learning objectives would be. Or you’re not sure if you should be teaching your children something first before throwing them on Scratch? Or maybe that’s where you are as a teacher, setting your class up on Code.org or Scratch and now you’re wondering what’s next.

Or maybe you have asked the exact same question we asked ourselves, “How do I teach the digital curriculum?”

Well this course is for you. It’s designed to kick start your journey into Digital Technologies. We want to impart as much knowledge as we can, so take notes, come back as many times as needed, and watch your confidence grow as you become more assured in what you are teaching and why you are teaching it.

So, join us in our first course “The NZ Digital Curriculum Unpacked for Primary Teachers”.
