The Essentials

The Process Unpacked

Stage One: Pre-Production

For the Teacher

While participating in this project, children will be performing actions using digital devices that align with the new Digital Curriculum.

We have designed this project to specifically align with Designing and Developing Progress Outcome 1

Students participate in teacher-led activities to develop, manipulate, store, retrieve, and share digital content in order to meet technological challenges. In doing so, they identify digital devices and their purposes and understand that humans make them. They know how to use some applications, they can identify the inputs and outputs of a system, and they understand that digital devices store content, which can be retrieved later.

This project has been created to expose children to the right tools that link to the digital curriculum, however it still requires a facilitators presence to emphasize the required learning.

As you follow this guide, you will notice we have highlighted the different learning outcomes to emphasize with your children.

For the Student

Pre-production is an essential stage of any project.

It’s the planning process and follow up of every task that must take place before the production can begin. It includes the finalization of the script or film strip. The preparation of equipment and props that might be needed for filming. You can schedule your shoot days, scout and secure your locations, and breakdown your filmstrip with your crew

The aim is to problem solve as many things as possible before we get on set, so that it can go as smooth as possible.

Completing this stage means you are ready to let the cameras roll!
