So, what is an end user?
An end user is a person who uses the digital content or outcome once it’s fully developed and ready for use. In the context of digital technologies, an end user is someone who interacts with software applications, websites, mobile apps, or any other digital product to accomplish tasks, access information, or enjoy entertainment.
So when students are creating their digital solutions, they have the end user in mind. The last thing they want is to create an interactive project on Scratch, say for their teacher to use, and then their teacher comes back to them with a whole bunch of questions about how to even get started! Let alone what to do on the project. So children are trying to make digital content or an outcome where the end users don’t need to troubleshoot. They can seamlessly use it.
In recap, end users are the individuals for whom these technologies are designed and developed. They might use a word processing software to create documents, a social media app to connect with friends, or an e-commerce website to shop for products. End users don’t necessarily need to understand the technical details or inner workings of the technology they’re using – they simply want to achieve their goals efficiently and effectively.
